LeBron James REALLY wanted Joe Johnson to join him in Cleveland.
Watch out, Gloria James.
The mother of NBA superstar LeBron James might want to start sleeping with one eye open after her son detailed the extreme lengths he’s willing to go to in order to deliver the Cavs to the promised land.
“Man listen, I’ll do anything to win. I’ll kidnap my momma to win,” James deadpanned to Cleveland.com.
Sounds like a threat!
James’ joke came while he was discussing former Nets swingman Joe Johnson, who ended up signing in Miami after his contract was bought out in Brooklyn.
LeBron reportedly said he’d be willing to play power forward full-time if it meant his former Olympic teammate would join him in Cleveland.
“All I care about is winning. That’s all that matters to me,” James told the website.
“A piece like Joe, you know what it does to your team, and if he was concerned about playing time or concerned about starting, then I’ll sacrifice. I’ll sacrifice to get a guy like that to help us try to win a championship.”
Apparently, not even the woman who raised him as a single mother is safe from the king’s plans.
